Set in the heart of Tonbridge School, the Music Rooms and Chapel of St Augustine offer creative venues for music and choral groups. The outstanding facilities within both locations include a magnificent organ in the Chapel and a selection of Steinway pianos in the Music Rooms. Perfect venues for recordings, recitals and competitions for professional and amateur organisations alike.
Our spectacular Chapel was painstakingly re-built following a devastating fire in 1988. Restoration and repair took seven years to complete and it was re-consecrated by the Bishop of Rochester in 1995. It can seat up to 700 guests and includes the Marcussen organ, which is widely regarded as one of the finest instruments in the country - a four-manual tracker-action instrument with 66 speaking stops, including two 32' stops.
The Music rooms, including the Recital and Octagon rooms with Steinway Grand Pianos, are ideal concert venues. In addition to these performance venues we have a recording studio, studio and nine practice rooms with a further selection of Boston and Essex Grand upright pianos.
